there's wealth in work. for so long, the idea of wealth was tied to labor. the biggest fortunes came from industries where people were making or doing something valuable. of course, there were always people with unfair advantages, but in general and oversimplified, there's value in effort and skill, and that value turned into wealth. with ai, i feel like that whole equation is shifting. how wealth is amassed by people working is to be replaced by something that doesn’t work in the same way. in this sense, ai doesn’t just replace work, it changes the process of creating wealth. if at one point the equation of work creating wealth doesn’t hold up anymore in a presumably just society, then what’s the new equation?
